WTFx23

 August 17

First day of class. So so weird, and so awesome. So I got to my classroom early to check out the equipment and the door was locked so the first thing I had to do was call the police to get the doors open. Then I tried to get the computer started and it took forever to load my profile. Then I had to connect the USB with my power points and it was only the third USB port that worked. Then it turned out that Teams was not downloaded on that computer so I had to do that and ask some students in the class (mixed f2f and online) to post to the teams group why I was not showing and THEN I could not make the sound work - I could see the students and they could see and hear me but I could not hear them. So we had to have one of the students in the room keep track of the chat and read chat posts out loud. But we did and it worked and we learned things and it is such a magical thing and I am so, so very grateful that I get to do this thing.

Met with Kate to explain the program. Went to campus and got my mask and downloaded some lectures and did the admin meeting from other. John was there, as was Michael. Made a green and blue necklace with matching earrings, pink earrings for the cabochon, and watched the first half of a Pale Horse

Grad team meeting about a bit of everything - I need to make a survey for current students. Met with Kendra who is very sweet but is becoming obviously mercenary. Some stress at the house, very fragile ... Micro Center for another hard drive for J and then  Chicfila and the second half of a Pale Horse. Scott Padgett says we have two hurricanes heading toward the coast - landing in New Orleans and Houston ... DFW, he says, is under the cone of uncertainty ... yeah, well, we have been under a cone of uncertainty since February ..

August 22

Wrote Michael - and then added that I realized I had the wrong day. Called Inger and got the details of the funeral - awesomely beautiful apparently. Jim met with the twins and I sat on the ground with a very scared dog who did not bite me, although I thought she might several times. Phew. The horses too were good to meet again. Lunch at Railhead, pie at Emporium. Drove through Cedar Springs and saw the rainbow crosswalks. The Quick and the Dead. Half of a Campion.

August 23

Talked with Rachel about Milton. Later Annika about life. We went out and did some stuff and did not get food at jollibee chicken, but instead ate at Tacodeli ... which was okay. Sex and laundry and the second half of a Campion and John Oliver and I took my medicine a bit early - yeah. Nervous about class.
